Buying and caring Guide

Your new rug will last longer and look better if a routine of regular vacuuming is followed. Vacuuming helps prevent dirt on the surface of the rug filtering down into the pile where it can accumulate and cause increased wear.

In order to extend its life we would suggest using a barrier mat at entrances which will help to reduce the amount of dirt being walked into an area. It is also recommended that you protect your rug from furniture with castors.

Coir, Sisal & Grass flooring all have a latex backing which helps to prevent dust and dirt building up underneath.

Deep pile and shaggy rugs may initially not lie completely flat but after a few weeks will settle and flatten out. During the first months loose yarn may come off, this is perfectly normal and is an intrinsic feature of wool. This should not be classed as a fault.

SPILLS AND STAINS

The basic rule for dealing with those little accidents is to act fast. BLOT up excess spills with a clean white cloth or paper towel. Never rub, as this can spread the stain. Once the stain is contained, work from the outer edge to the centre applying a proprietary carpet cleaner with a clean cloth. Avoid soaking the effected area as this can spread the stain. Once clean, pat any excess moisture with a paper towel and allow to dry. On stubborn stains, repeat the process until the stain is completely removed. We recommend using a professional cleaning company if you cannot remove a stain.

RUG BORDERS

Gently vacuum on a regular basis. For spills and deep cleaning we recommend you use an appropriate proprietary cleanser.
